College Placement Success

Upper Deck Baseball is proud of our placement percentage among our eligible high school seniors into college baseball programs!  In 5 season we now have placed 18 eligible seniors into college programs to play college sports.  Counting our fall league Upper Deck Baseball has helped over 24 seniors move on to college baseball.  That is what it's all about...helping high school seniors reach that dream of college baseball and getting a quality education at the same time!

Upper Deck Baseball Expands

Upper Deck Baseball, home of the Billings Expos, is excited to have expanded our program.  After the success of our Expos AA team and  our Expos A programs we have expanded to include our Billings Expos 11U, Billings Expos 12U, Billings Expos 13U, and Billings Expos 14U.  With these programs we are giving more kids in our community a chance to play competitive baseball and have a successful program that they can grow with, play through high school with, and eventually move on past high school baseball which we will help each player with.  These teams were created to give more players good coaching and an environment where they can grow not only as great baseball players but great young men.

We have also expanded into softball to create our Lady Expos teams.  These teams will give young girls in our community a chance to move through our program, the same way we have been running and helping our boys, and ultimately help them move in to college programs!  We are very excited to start softball.

If you are interested in learning more about our program and/or are interested in joining our program please click on the CONTACT button above and send a message to Coach Vigus.  He will be more than happy to touch base with you and answer any questions!

How it all Started

Our Story

Inaugural Fall Season:

After realizing the youth in Billings needed more options to help them get to the next level I decided to start a fall league, and thus the Billings Upper Deck Expos started the fall of 2016.  This was our first fall season that really started it all.  We had games against Williston State College, Dawson Community College, Bismarck State College, and Miles Community College as well as a couple other local teams (whom we still play in the fall to date).  We traveled to Arizona and participating in a scout camp as well that gave the boys some great direct exposure and opportunities.  Of the two seniors we had on this fall team both signed to play college baseball.  Ultimately to date 7 of those players are currently playing or have played college baseball.  Three of these guys are now helping coach on our older teams.  This was a great bunch of kids to kick off our program though and I am very thankful to them.  The team picture was taken at Dawson Community College in Glendive, MT.

First Full Season:

The spring/summer of 2017 was our actual first full season.  It's always tough starting from scratch with a new program.  We knew it would be an uphill battle and it was!  We had to find a home field to play games and it seemed like everyone was telling us no.  So with some perseverance and will to make this work for our players we were able to do so.  We were able to play home games in Columbus, MT thanks to the great folks out there who made it work for us both.  We were able to purchase our first team van (we now have 3 and a team bus) to travel together in and were able to mesh as a family.  We had our ups and downs but had an amazing first season.

The Schedule:

Our schedule for 2017 was a busy one.  We ended up playing 51 games.  We won two tournaments in our first season which is quite an accomplishment for players playing together for the first time.  We put on a lot of miles on the van but really came together as a club.  Our farthest tournament was to Seattle, Washington but we played in North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and Montana.  In Seattle we played in a great tournament that gave us exposure to some great baseball and in front of several college coaches.  We had some time to enjoy Seattle as a team as well and even get in a game at Safeco Field.  These are the moments these kids will remember most, so we try and make sure they are memorable.
